1. Club de Golf Revermont
Location: Amqui, QC Holes: 18 · Par: 72 · Length: 6,074 yards · Slope: 136
The highest slope in this list, tied with Le Grand Vallon, and it comes on the shortest yardage of the two. At 6,074 yards with a slope of 136 and a course rating of 75.4, well above par, the difficulty here is not coming from length. Amqui sits in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, well east of Quebec City toward the Gaspe peninsula, which makes this the most remote course on the list.

Who should skip it: Short hitters looking for a quick, easy round. At nearly 6,600 yards with an extra par-5 built into the par-73 routing, this is one of the longer walks on this list even before slope factors in.
6. Golf Ste-Rose
Location: Laval, QC Holes: 18 · Par: 70 · Length: 6,134 yards · Slope: 131
The shortest par on this list at 70, and the only course inside the Montreal metro area proper. A course rating of 74.6 against that par 70 is a 4.6-stroke gap, larger than every course above it except Le Grand Vallon and Triangle D’Or, which is a striking number on a course this close to the city and this modest in yardage.
Green fees run $36 to $55. For golfers based in or near Montreal who don’t want to drive an hour or more for a real test, this is the closest option on this list.
Who should skip it: Anyone expecting a relaxed short-par round because of the par-70 label. The rating says otherwise.
7. Club de Golf de Buckingham
Location: L’Ange-Gardien, QC Holes: 18 · Par: 71 · Length: 6,341 yards · Slope: 131
The only course on this list in the Outaouais region, near Gatineau and the Ontario border. Tied with Golf Ste-Rose at a 131 slope, but at 6,341 yards over par 71, with a course rating of 74.4, the rating-to-par gap here is 3.4 strokes, a more moderate spread than the Montreal-area course above it.
