About the course
First opened for play in 1993, the Caroline and District Golf Course is an informal eighteen hole club where visitors always receive a friendly welcome and the emphasis is firmly placed on having a good time.
The course is laid out within sight of the Rocky Mountains. The best view is from the 8th tee, where the fairway plays through the dramatically undulating terrain of a small creek valley. Caroline's first three holes trace the perimeter of the course and holes 5 through 6 play back and forth over the creek.
A testament to the level of challenge that the course offers is the fact that no golfer has yet been able to achieve par. Much of the reason for this is the dense growth of trees that border most of the fairways. If you place an errant shot into the trees your recovery shot is usually pretty tough - if not impossible. Other challenges are provided by the creek and three ponds, which combine to bring water into play on all but two of Caroline's holes.
The toughest hole on the course to par is the 6th, a 150 yard par three that features not only a tee shot across the creek, but also the commanding presence of a large 40 foot pine tree smack dab in the middle of the fairway.
